Our top things to do in Girdwood
Alyeska Resort Aerial Tram
Home to Alyeska Resort where you can take their aerial tram to the top of Mt. Alyeska and dine at one of their restaurants. During the summer there are numerous trails you can hike and, in the winter, the surrounding area is good for snowboarding or downhill skiing.
Nordic Spa
This wasn’t finished by the time we went (bummer!) but it did look appealing, and I would suggest checking it out while there. It is part of the Alyeska Resort.
Girdwood Brewing Company
I didn’t get a chance to check it out since I was running errands back in Anchorage in preparation for my wedding the next day. My father and the rest of the family thought it was great. They were able to meet the locals and a friendly neighborhood moose which, of course, was the highlight.
Begich, Boggs Visitor Center
Visitor center in the Chugach National Forest, America’s farthest north national forest. Offers many exhibits and presentations. Offers many different hikes and sights of glaciers. Plus, we got married along the shore of the lake right outside!!
